A Brief Ride to Aroma Roof
Finally after a long time, I got some time to enjoy the winter sun. With a mug of coffee in my hand, I took a few steps to reach my terrace to take a brief sun bath. As I unlocked the terrace door, a fresh burst of air welcomed me with a wonderfully balmy aroma and a very pleasant sight of bright colours. Just wow!
Winter mornings are so amazing and it’s great to have a flower garden at the terrace. It can change one’s mood miraculously. I can spend hours sitting in their company. And spotting some bees hovering over the bright flowers is not unusual. Set your eyes on them and you are involuntarily ready for eye exercise without any of your intention!
In the meantime, I could hear the neighbourhood aunty shouting at the highest pitch of her voice, fighting over the freshness of fish. Oh aunty! I quickly shifted my attention to the lovely chrysanthemums. So bright, so fresh! My roof is so odorous and beautiful; I remembered some wonderful lines –
I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.
– Edna St. Vincent Millay (Afternoon on a Hill)
Spending a while in their aromatic company, I took refuge in my room to write down about my date with flowers. They are really capable of feeding one’s soul. Whenever you are a bit down, just try to spend your time with the blossoms. It’s the best aroma therapy you can have! Have you tried it ever? Share your thoughts and experiences below.
